WHY SCHOLARSHIPS MATTER
Building Capacity to Meet Growing Need
Today, 75% to 80% of applicants to the Master of Clinical Mental Health and Psychotherapy (MCMHP) programme require financial support. These are dedicated professionals — social workers, nurses, educators, counsellors — seeking advanced training to better serve their communities. Without scholarships, many would be unable to pursue this critical specialisation.
Each scholarship does more than fund an individual’s education. It strengthens Singapore’s mental health workforce, expands community capacity, and ensures that clinical expertise reaches the thousands who need it — in hospitals, schools, family service centres, and voluntary welfare organisations.

Named Scholarships for MCMHP Students
We are deeply grateful to the donors and foundations whose generosity makes advanced mental health training accessible to talented individuals, regardless of financial means.
We also acknowledge the Singapore Rubber Millers’ Association and Emeritus Professor Hong Hai for their generous gifts in support of education and workforce development in mental health, helping to create opportunities for future clinicians and practitioners to serve the community.
Saverin Scholarships
Donor: Elaine and Eduardo Saverin Foundation

Scholarship coverage: Full tuition + monthly stipend | Merit-based | Open to local and international students
The Saverin Scholarships represent the largest single scholarship gift received for the MCMHP programme — a transformative $3 million commitment from the Elaine and Eduardo Saverin Foundation. Designed to empower visionary individuals to lead with compassion, these merit-based scholarships fully cover tuition fees and provide a monthly stipend for full-time students.
Open to both local and international applicants, the scholarships aim to nurture a new generation of professionals dedicated to delivering evidence-based care and driving meaningful transformation across the mental health sector.
Enpee Group Mental Health Scholarships
Donors: Mr Sanjay Kirpalani and Ardmore Management
Established: 2026
Focus: Supporting the training of future mental health professionals
For Mr Sanjay Kirpalani, philanthropy is about creating opportunities for the next generation to flourish. Over the years, he and his family have supported pioneering initiatives at NUS, guided by a belief that both physical and mental health are essential to a brighter future.

Choo-Lim Scholarship

In memory of Mr Choo Lye Heng and Mdm Lim Swee Hiang
Established by Professor Choo Chiau Beng in loving memory of his parents, Mr Choo Lye Heng and Mdm Lim Swee Hiang, this scholarship honours a legacy of care. The award is intended to recognise and support social service and healthcare professionals as they embark on specialised clinical training, enhancing the delivery of mental health services in the heart of the community.
Malaysian Community Scholarships
Donor: Mr Yeo Keng Joon and Mdm Kong Yuet Peng

Eligibility: Malaysian citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
Supported by a generous gift from Mr Yeo Keng Joon and Mdm Kong Yuet Peng, these scholarships are intended for Malaysian citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents enrolled in the MCMHP programme. The award meaningfully alleviates financial burdens, enabling talented practitioners to focus on their clinical training.

Fei Yue Youth-MSC Scholarship

Holywell Foundation Scholarships

Focus: Training mental health practitioners across clinical and community settings
The Holywell Foundation Limited provides partially funded scholarships to raise community capability through education.
These awards are designed to train mental health practitioners in Singapore, equipping them with the specialised psychotherapy skills required to effectively assist persons suffering from mental health conditions across diverse clinical and community landscapes.
BinjaiTree Scholarships
Donor: BinjaiTree (Mr Hsieh Fu Hua)

Focus: Supporting practitioners serving charities and social enterprises
Founded by Mr Hsieh Fu Hua, BinjaiTree is a Singapore-based philanthropic organisation dedicated to sustained community contributions with a primary focus on the improvement of mental health.
These scholarships support dedicated professionals in the MCMHP programme as they undertake specialised clinical training to better serve local charities, social enterprises, and the healthcare sector.
Mind Science Centre Scholarships
Donor: Mr Tow Heng Tan (Mind the Gap 200 Fund)
Established: 2024
Focus: Raising community mental health capacity
In partnership with the Community Foundation of Singapore, these scholarships are established through the Mind the Gap 200 Fund — a collective initiative dedicated to tackling urgent social issues.
The award plays a pivotal role in raising the capacity of mental health practitioners in Singapore, equipping them with essential counselling and psychotherapy competencies to assist individuals in both clinical and community settings.
